Founded on 1 December 1980 in the Port of Aarhus, Denmark, Baltic Control® began as a small, independent inspection company - an alternative to the large, traditional market players of the time, often associated with a lack of transparency. From day one, our mission has been clear: to deliver reliable, impartial and highly professional inspection services.

In the early years, our operations focused mainly on the agricultural and feed sectors, particularly on grain and commodity movements between Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. Over time, driven by ambition, expertise and a commitment to quality, altic Control® expanded its activities into new regions and diversified into new service areas.

Our Growth and Transformation – Key Milestones

The 1980s–1990s:
International expansion, establishment of offices outside Scandinavia and the development of a global field network.

Early 2000s:
Entry into major industry associations and recognition within the global TIC sector, allowing Baltic Control® to influence and support the development of industry standards.

Continuous service development:
From traditional inspections and sampling to modern control, certification, laboratory testing, technical inspections and sector-specific solutions.

Global footprint:
Today, Baltic Control® operates across continents, carrying out inspections, testing and certification for companies and organisations worldwide — spanning commodities, industry, recycling, maritime logistics, agriculture and more.

Why 45 Years Matters

Over four and a half decades, we have:

  • Built a trustworthy global network of offices, partners and representatives.

  • Earned the confidence of clients ranging from small local businesses to global corporations and international institutions.

  • Adapted to evolving standards and regulatory requirements, consistently raising the level of service we provide.

  • Maintained a long-term commitment to independence, integrity and professionalism - values that continue to define Baltic Control® today.

Our longevity is the result of continuous development, dedication and collaboration at every level of the organisation.

A Message of Thanks

This anniversary belongs to everyone who has contributed to our journey - our clients, partners, employees, inspectors, and former colleagues whose efforts built the foundations we stand on today.

Thank you for your trust, cooperation and partnership.
Thank you for the challenges that helped us grow.
Thank you for being part of the Baltic Control® story.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate 45 years, we remain committed to the principles on which we were founded: independence, accuracy, reliability and respect for our clients and partners.

In an era marked by increasing focus on quality, safety, sustainability and transparency, Baltic Control® will continue to invest in expertise, strengthen its global presence and innovate to meet the evolving needs of international trade.

With gratitude for the past and confidence in the future - we move forward, together.
